「水墨加一台」之台灣當代名家國畫展

温哥華是北美最蓬勃的中國書畫藝術城市。温哥華華人人口超過伍拾萬，其中來自台湾裔的不下拾萬。温哥華華裔書畫家也有過千，台灣裔的佔了一半，而且非常活躍，但台湾本土的書畫藝術甚少有代表性和國際性的大型展覽。國際書畫藝術研究中心和加中藝術橋協會是本地最好影響力的華書畫界非牟利機構;極希望能和台灣當代著名的國畫家作互動交流，從而使本地台裔及多元文化社區認識到台灣當代國畫的面貌，並藉藝術交流豐富本地國畫界對當代台灣藝術的認識。

Vancouver is considered as the best city in North American for Chinese arts and paintings to flourish. The City of Vancouver has a Chinese population exceeding half a million, and immigrants originated from Taiwan are no fewer than 100,000 in number. Amongst the over one thousand Chinese artists residing in Vancouver, majority of them are immigrants from Taiwan, and they are very active in the artists’ community. Nevertheless, there have been very few significant arts exhibition truly representative of the color and characteristics of artists from Taiwan.

The International Studies and Research Arts Centre and Canada Chinese Arts Bridge Association are the most influential local non-profit arts organizations of the Chinese community in Vancouver. They wish to bring in famous contemporary artists from Taiwan, so that the local artists and the multi-ethnic community of Vancouver will have a better understanding and appreciation of the most recent styles and demeanour of Chinese arts and paintings from Taiwan.
