李凱雄從小愛習畫並跟隨母親廖坤賢學習中國繪畫，母親為山水畫大師黃君壁高徒。他畫馬以徐悲鴻大師為偶像並以「師造化」為座右銘，經常到馬場寫生和拍照片作參考。十五歲時已和當年著名漫畫家在大會堂和荃灣社區中心展覽漫畫。1987年率領愛美莉卡藝術大學師生三十二人往上海參加第一屆國際電影和往北京電影學院作文化交流。2000年跟隨梁石峰大師學習書法因為書畫同源，畫家亦要練習書法才能更上一層樓。後來也跟隨愛新覺羅-恆華-甄浩學習書畫和篆刻。2001年應北京徐悲鴻藝術學院邀請和母親舉辦母子畫展並得楊善深大師寫横額以示鼓勵，徐悲鴻夫人廖靜文女士剪綵另畫展達到高峰。2009年亦曾應邀請到廣州二沙島嶺南會館展出馬的作品。從八十年代到現在，每年均有參加溫哥華華人藝術家協會，嶺南長者學院，溫哥華書畫交流協會及加拿大文化藝術總會展出書法和水墨畫；除了畫駿馬亦畫青綠山水和人物。2017年也獲國際畫廊邀請參加香港回歸祖國二十週年和加拿大一百五十週年國慶展出作品，甚獲好評。2018年四月份為雲城雅習主持文徵明書畫講座，同年九月也為吳門畫會雅集講解文徵明書畫。在1995年被列入「中國當代之藝術界名人錄」兼授銅鼎獎，在2000年獲「中國新世紀優秀人才」証書。

Peter demonstrates his love of horses since childhood and he has learned the Chinese brush painting technique from his mother Magdalene Kwun Yin Liu who was an accomplished artist. He takes Master Xu Pei Hong, the greatest horse artist as his model and takes his motto of “Nature is the best teacher” as his philosophy for life. He often goes to stables to make sketches and take pictures of horses for reference. When he was fifteen years old he has already joined famous cartoonists of Hong Kong to have exhibitions in the Hong Kong City Hall. In 1987 he leaded a group of thirty two teachers and students from Emily Carr Arts University to Shanghai for the 1st International Film Festival and to the Beijing Film Academy for cultural exchange.In 1999, He learned calligraphy from Master Leung Shek Fung and later learn Chinese Painting, calligraphy and seal carving from Master Hao Zhen who is a descendent from the late AisinGioro royal family. In 2001 at the invitation of the Xu Pei Hong Art University Peter and his mother had a joint exhibition in Beijing and it reached the highlight when Madame Xu Pei Hong cut ribbon at the opening ceremony. In 2001 he also had an exhibition of horses in the Quangzhou Lin LAN Club House. Beginning from the eighties, he continues to show painting and calligraphy at the Vancouver Chinese Artists Association, Lin LAN College for seniors, the Vancouver Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Society, Chinese Artists Association Of Canada. Besides, at the invitation of the International Art Gallery he has shown paintings at Canada’s 150th Anniversary Art Exhibition and the Celebration of the 20th Anniversary Of Hong Kong Returning to China in 2017 and received very good comments. In 2018, twice he has demonstrated the painting and calligraphy of Master Man Jing Ming to members of art societies. In 1995 he was included in the Who’ Who Chinese Outstanding Artists Book and in 2000, Peter received a Copper Award and a certificate as one of the Outstanding Artists Of China In The New Century.
