Gerry THOMPSON
AWS, SFCA, NWWS, CSPWC
Vancouver born artist, Gerry Thompson, has painted all of her adult life.
She received her formal training in art at the University of the Fraser Valley and the Western Washington University. She is also an accomplished musician, obtaining her ARCT from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto as solo performer in piano.
Gerry’s paintings are found in corporate and private collections. Among her many awards and accomplishments are the Federation of Canadian Artists Signature Members’ Bronze Medal and the Doris McCarthy award “For outstanding achievement of an Elected Member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour.” She is also a Signature Member of the American Watercolor Society, and the Northwest Watercolor Society.
She is featured in many local, national, and international publications. The International Artist Magazine has featured Gerry in several issues, one of which profiles her as one of the artists describing “inside the studios of the world’s best artists”. The eight page article was titled From Abstract to Realism and My Art in the Making VENEZIA. Also included with her several awards in the IA magazines was her achieving the Grand Prize for her painting, The Gathering #3.
Teaching painting for many years, Gerry has travelled to many locations, both nationally and internationally.
Still life, architecture, portraiture, marine, landscape…….all subjects and mediums that she paints with excellence. She has often been teasingly called “Georgia O’Keefe” because of her large organic floral compositions.
謝莉 湯普森AWS, SFCA, NWWS, CSPWC
出生於溫哥華的畫家謝莉，湯普森，成長後一直在繪畫。
她在菲莎谷大學及西華盛頓大學藝術系接受正統培訓。也是一位有成就的音樂家，在多倫多皇家音樂學院獲 ARCT 鋼琴獨奏級名銜。
她的作品廣為公司及私人收藏，她獲得的多項獎項和榮譽包括：加拿大藝術家聯盟表列會員、加拿大油畫及水彩畫協會選舉會員傑出成就之銅牌及Doris McCarthy 獎。她也是美國水彩畫協會及西北水彩畫協會的表列會員。許多國際，全國及本地的刊物都有介紹她；國際藝術家雜誌曾數次介紹她，其中一次描述她是〝畫室中最優秀的其中一個畫家〞，八頁介紹標題是「由抽象主義至寫實主義」及「我如何創作我的畫威尼斯」，在這專稿上也包括介紹了她的重要大獎－＜The Gathering #3＞。謝莉教授繪畫多年，也遊歷了世界及全國很多景點，她繪畫了多種包括靜物、建築、肖像、海洋、山景等等出色的不同類型和媒材作品，並因為特別受推崇的大幅天然花卉系列作品，而被戲稱為“喬治亞奧基夫的農場”。
