GUO, KANA 郭卡娜

Kana was born in 1984 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. She was fond of painting in very early age. After she created a comic work called “Satuation” at age of thirteen, she was invited by a television station for an interview.

Year 2000: Admitted to the China Academy of Fine Arts Affiliated Middle School, started 4 years professional art study

Year 2004: Admitted to the China Academy of Fine Arts, Department of Public Art Painting, and Mural Painting and began 4 years art study

Year 2004: Many pen sketches including “Corner of a Old House” and “Baoding Village in Lishui” were published in “2004 Masterpiece Calendar”

Year 2005: More than 20 paintings including “Rhyme of Stars”, “ Close-up Series”, “Extradition”. “Sight” and “Transformation” etc, were collected by many organizations and individuals.

Year 2006: The murals “Jump, Jump” for 2nd international Animation Festival was published in Hangzhou Daily Newspaper.

Year 2006: The murals “Busy Bus” for the Hangzhou Animation Exhibition was published in Qianjiang Evening Newspaper

Art Achievement:

Year 2007: Participated the 2007 Contemporary Poetry, Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition organized by China Academy of Fine Arts, Xiling Imprinting Corporation, Art Association of Zhejiang and Calligraphy Association.

Year 2007: Employed as an Assistant Instructor for Higher Education Painting Research Institute of China Academy of Fine Arts in Xiangshan

Year 2008: Received a bachelor degree from China Academy of Fine Arts. The mix media mural “The Last Contest” was published in Outstanding Graduation Works Collection and reproduced by many art websites

Year 2008: Many papers including “Ya Yun”, “Alone”, “City Shoes Show”, “Deep Alley Series”, “Learning for My Own Use” and “He Walks Forward” were published in 73th Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Publication.

Year 2008: Founded BC Canada Art Studio and Kana Art Studio. Worked as a professional painter and continued creating many new works such as “Night Silent”, “Life-Reborn”, “Life-Price”, “Secret of Lines” and so on. Many of them were sought after by important art clubs, art galleries, and professional art initiations of North America.

Year 2008: Taught art at Richmond City Training Center

Year 2008: Invited as a featuring artist for Body Painting Exhibition organized by Pacifica Photography for many years

Year 2009: Participated 2009 Spring Exhibition organized by Pacific Art Gallery

Year 2009: Invited to participate Unlimited Creativity – Street Behavior Art Exhibition

Year 2010: Invited to participate 2010 Contemporary Art Double Show organized by Pacifica Visual Arts Gallery

Year 2011: Appointed as Art Director of the Fragrant-Wood Carving Art Gallery

Year 2012: Invited as Art Consultant for Grand Canal Chunqiu Art Project

Year 2012: Worked as an editorial board member, and art coordinator for Chinese Folk Album published by Xiling Imprinting Corporation Publishing House.

Year 2012: Appointed as the General Manager for “Ancient and Modern” antique appraisal and Oversea Art Auction

Year 2013: Served as an editorial board Art Director for publishing North American DaJiang Dong Qu magazine

Year 2013: Appointed as an Editor and Art Consultant for Outstanding Chinese magazine

Year 2014: Visited Cambodia, Angkor, Phnom Penh and other places for academic research organized by Zhuo Zhuan Art Delegation

Year 2015: Became a member of Chinese Artists Association of Canada

Year 2015: Created series of “micro world” works using new ink techniques

Year 2016: Worked as an Art Consultant for China Grand Canal Cultural Heritage Project
